A snowmobile safari in witch country creates an almost supernatural feeling. Travel through Härjedalen’s deep forests, across frozen lakes, and snow-covered swampland to unexplored arctic land that can only be experienced with the help of snowmobiles. Europe’s best and largest snowmobile trail system is showing the way to unbelievable views, settlements from a past time in our history and a wide variety of winter activities.
We will give our guests a very unique experience compared to larger mountain resorts. We offer harmony and quietness, without lines or stress - but we know where to find the local village pub or town hall for some fun.

A horse- and snowmobile safari will bring you back in time to historical sites through an extraordinary winter landscape. The journey is spiced up with wild country spa, and local gourmet food.

Day 1.
We begin the day with an informal welcome lunch at Lillhärdal’s Inn (Wärdshus). Next, we will visit Häxhuset, a museum dedicated to the witch-hunt that took place in Lillhärdal. We get to see the video “Häxornas Tid” the age of the witches, (subtitled in English) and like the prosecuted witches, experience the choice between heaven and hell. We’ll change into 17th century clothing and travel by horse and sled to the site where the first witch execution in Sweden was carried out, and finally we visit Sweden’s only monument commemorating the lives devastated by the witch prosecutions, before returning to Häxhuset by horse and sled.
After a brief introduction, our guide will lead the group on snowmobiles to “Lillhärjeåbygget” the only occupied and active mountain farm in Sweden. In a land with no roads, the hosts Ann and Eva will tell stories about the buildings history from year 1809 and its people and farm life. Dinner is served in the guesthouse, entirely prepared from the farms own produce and livestock. Before bedtime, we will enjoy a quite moment outdoors under a starlit sky.
Day 2.
After a hearty and strengthening breakfast, we enter the snowmobiles again for a trip to the summit of Vedungsfjället (1,019m above sea level), the highest viewing point in the area. We will be rewarded by mile long views that stunned many of our visitors. The impressive views are reaching all the way into Norway in clear weather, and deep into the Swedish mountain regions. Next, we’ll continue to Lofsdalen, the small and famous ski resort for lunch at the slope. We check in at the hotel, and after some well deserved rest, select our ski gear, get our ski passes and go for the slopes. The ski instructors will be available and guide beginners in a safe area of the slopes. The evening begins with a spa, Jacuzzi, and a warm sauna before dinner is served in the village. If we are lucky, there will be some music entertainment at the pub before we return to our beds.
Day 3.
After a great breakfast in Lofsdalen another full day of snowmobile safari is awaiting in Härjedalens mesmerizing winter landscape. Our journey will take us back to Salixbyn village in Lillhärdal in a modest tempo. We’ll ride over snow-covered mountains, through forests, marshlands and frozen lakes, with a break for hot drinks and sandwich, and maybe we try our luck with ice fishing. We take lunch in the open outdoors around a warm campfire.
It’s been a memorable day with plenty of outdoors experiences and beautiful views. Salixbyn village welcomes you with flaming torches, and a crackling fireplace feels just right in Långhuset’s Inn after a long days journey. Perhaps a cold beer will tempt you before settling down in your warm timber cabin.
When the evening arrives, the sauna and the wood fired hot tubs at the Sexån river are warm and ready, and maybe the sky is clear and you can hear the ripples from the stream in the background. Your body and mind are finally relaxed and you enjoy the forest’s quietness far away from the noise of the city.
The evening is rounded off with a three-course meal, prepared from local produce in Långhuset’s Inn. The fireplace is crackling and the heat is increasing to the tunes of music and friends laughter. The timber cabins bed is waiting after a long day of new impressions, and physical enjoyment.
Day 4.
We enjoy breakfast near the fireplace, before it’s time to say our goodbyes and return wishes.

 Friday (Arrival)
The weekend begins with a drink to welcome our guests, and a relaxing sauna at Härjulfs-gården. The evening is enjoyed with friends and a two-course dinner prepared at Lillhärdal’s Inn (Wärdshus).
Saturday
After a strengthening breakfast, guests receive short instructions in the art of safe snowmobiling and the Nordic Area’s trail system, Europe’s largest territory for snowmobiles.
We travel through a snow-covered landscape with stops for hot drinks and sandwich, including lunch at an open fireplace. Our journey offers miles of beautiful wild country scenery and impressions enough to last a lifetime.

After a great breakfast near the fireplace, we take the snowmobiles for an ice-fishing trip or just a fun and relaxing tour in the area. We end the weekend with lunch at Lillhärdal’s Inn (Wärdshus), and say our goodbyes.
